Pertussis (whooping cough) is an acute, highly contagious infectious disease, causing uncontrollable and severe coughing. Pertussis outbreaks are increasingly common, but little is available on their determinants. Through a systematic literature review, this study aims at describing key drivers of pertussis outbreaks, and at listing reported recommendations.
