Dementia is an irreversible brain disease that results in progressive cognitive impairment and, eventually, inability to carry out the simplest tasks of daily living. Currently there exists no cure for this disease. Patients suffering dementia require plenty of care, mainly provided by the families. The objective of this study was to assess the time required from the patients’ caregivers according to the patient’s health state, and the consequences for the active population in current China.
