In UK guidelines, levodopa (LD), dopamine agonists (DA) and monoamine-oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitors are recommended as initial options for the pharmacological treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD). The choice for these treatments should take into account patient clinical profile, lifestyle characteristics and patient preferences.
